Beanworks Coffee Roasters has marked a milestone achievement at the 2025 Great Taste Awards, securing an exceptional 10 stars across multiple entries in the world's most trusted food and drink accreditation scheme
The Northamptonshire-based roastery's Colombian Jardines del Edén coffee earned the highest possible 3-star rating, placing it among just 1.9% of all 14,340 products entered this year. The expert panel of over 500 food and drink industry professionals praised the coffee's "complex and delicious flavour" and "really enjoyable taste from first to last."

Setting New Standards in Decaf Excellence
In a particularly notable achievement, Beanworks' Condor Decaf Coffee secured a prestigious 2-star rating, making it the joint highest-rated decaf coffee recognised in this year's awards. The Colombian single-origin decaf impressed judges with what they described as "a burst of juicy redcurrant acidity, bolstered by toffee sweetness, evolving into dark chocolate in the finish."
"We're absolutely thrilled by this year's results. Winning multiple stars — especially our first-ever 3-star award — is a huge honour and a testament to the entire Beanworks team and our incredible farming partners around the world," said David Blair of Beanworks.
Innovation at Origin Recognised
The awards have particularly highlighted the innovation happening at coffee origin. The 3-star winning Jardines del Edén showcases an extremely rare coffee varietal called Papayo, grown and produced by Felipe Arcila, a fourth-generation coffee producer in Colombia's Quindio region.
"We're equally pleased that the Awards have recognised the innovation of coffee growers," Blair continued. "Felipe Arcila's work with the Papayo varietal represents the cutting edge of coffee production, and we've carefully profiled and roasted it to showcase it at its very best."
A Comprehensive Success Story
The roastery's complete haul included one 3-star, three 2-star, and three 1-star awards, demonstrating consistency across their range of Award Winning Coffee Beans. Alongside the headline winners, notable mentions include:
★ ★ 2-Star Awards
Fuyan China - A distinctive coffee from Yunnan province
★ 1-Star Awards:
- Ruganano Burundi - From the Rugabano Washing Station
- El Paseo Colombia - Sourced from Nariño region
- Danche Ethiopia - From the renowned Yirgacheffe region
Commitment to Speciality Coffee Excellence
The awards underscore Beanworks' position as a leader in the UK's Speciality Coffee sector. Operating from their roastery in Northamptonshire, the company sources, roasts, and packs over 200 tonnes of coffee annually, supplying independent cafés, restaurants, and home brewers across the UK.
The Great Taste Awards, run by the Guild of Fine Food, are widely regarded as the food industry's most rigorous and independent accreditation scheme. Products are
blind-tasted by panels of specially selected food writers, chefs, buyers, and retailers, with no packaging or branding visible to ensure complete impartiality.
"The Great Taste Awards are the gold standard in our industry, so to see our Jardines del Edén recognised at the highest level, and our Condor Decaf rated as one of the UK's best decaf coffees, is truly humbling," Blair added.
This year's success builds on Beanworks' reputation for excellence in coffee sourcing and roasting, reflecting their ongoing commitment to showcasing exceptional coffees from producers worldwide while supporting sustainable and innovative farming practices.
